Pathways to Purposeਨਮੂਨਾ

For six long years, we waited and prayed for our first child. It was a season filled with hope and heartbreak, faith and frustration. When God finally answered, we held our miracle in our arms. Then, He blessed us with a second child—and we were filled with gratitude.
But after that came three miscarriages. Three more heartbreaks. Three more losses that left me questioning, grieving, and wondering why. Each loss felt like a new giant standing in front of me, mocking my faith and shaking my hope.
And yet, like David on the battlefield, I found myself remembering. I remembered the lion—that long season of infertility. I remembered the bear—the prayers, the promises, the miracle of our first child. And I realized: the same God who carried me through those years hadn’t changed.
David’s boldness didn’t come from confidence in himself, but in the God who had rescued him before. He remembered the victories God had already given him, and that remembrance gave him courage to believe again.
Hope isn’t blind optimism—it’s built on memory. It’s rooted in the trials we’ve walked through and the faithfulness we’ve seen along the way. Like David, we can face the giants not because we’re strong, but because we remember who God has been.
If you’re facing a painful or uncertain season, take time to reflect on the trials God has already walked you through. Write down those moments—big or small—where He came through. Let those memories anchor your hope. God’s past faithfulness is your reason to believe He’s not finished yet.
Maybe you’re praying for a miracle, grieving a loss, or wrestling with the unknown. It’s okay to feel the weight of it—but don’t let the weight of today make you forget the God who sustained you yesterday. Go back to the stories of His faithfulness. Speak them out loud. Tell a trusted friend. Start a journal where you record “lion and bear” moments—the ones where God showed up even when things didn’t go how you planned.
David didn’t ignore the danger in front of him—he just chose to remember a bigger truth: God had delivered him before, and God would do it again. Let that same truth strengthen you today. You don’t have to muster up fake confidence—just real remembrance.
Prayer:
Lord, You have been faithful in every season—through the waiting, the heartache, and the joy. Thank You for the victories I’ve seen, even when they came through tears. When new battles come and my heart grows weary, help me to remember. Let my past with You fuel fresh hope for the future. You rescued me before, and I trust You to do it again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
