Even Stillਨਮੂਨਾ

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Psalm 34:8–14 again.
- What images are used to describe God's goodness?
- What instructions are found here?
- Which of God's promises is found in it (you may see more than one)?
A: Application
What's something that distracts you from focusing on God's goodness and the pursuit of God's peace in your life?
God's goodness can transcend our most difficult moments. What's a way you can respond to heartache or turmoil with a reminder of the good God has done?
You can worship God in all sorts of ways. You can worship by doing something you do every day or an activity that you love to do. What would it look like for you to pair a food or activity you enjoy with an opportunity to worship God's goodness?
P: Prayer
As you take time to pray today, think about something delicious you ate recently or an experience you found incredibly satisfying. What about that thing was a reflection of God's goodness for you? Spend some time in prayer about what it looks like for you to turn to God's goodness for fulfillment first and not another source. Thank God for providing everything we need.

About this Plan

When life feels dark—like nothing is going right and nothing ever will—it’s easy to feel lost and hopeless. But just like the sun, moon, and stars light up the darkest sky, God’s light shines in our lives even in the hardest moments because God’s presence carries us, no matter what we face. For the next 28 days, we’ll explore how God meets us in our pain and brings light to guide us through. We’ll learn that even when we lose hope, God is closer than we know.
