Pulse Check: Aligning Our Path to God’s Plans

DAY 2 OF 7

Honoring God with our Questions

Did you know that the brain is made up of 100,000 miles of blood vessels—almost four times the distance around the world—and information can travel through it at speeds up to 350 miles per hour?

The intricate design of the brain highlights the incredible creativity and nature of our Creator. It is clear that God designed us to be deep thinkers, reflecting complexity and wonder.

You may be asking, what does this have to do with aligning my life to God's plan? The answer is simple: Everything.

God has gifted us with minds capable of reflection, imagination, creativity, and strategy. One of the most powerful ways we can fully embrace this gift is by inviting God into our thoughts, questions, and reflections. When we process with God, we invite His guidance, wisdom, and will into our lives, aligning our plans with those of the Master Creator.

Unfortunately, many of us skip over this practice for a few reasons:

  • We’re rushing through life – In our busy and fast-paced lives, we often miss the opportunity to pause and reflect.
  • Our pride deceives us – We convince ourselves that we already have all the answers and don’t need God’s guidance.
  • We misunderstand God – We mistakenly believe that our questions dishonor or challenge God.
  • We misdirect our questions – Rather than consulting with God about our lives, we often turn to others for answers.

Scripture teaches us that aligning our lives to God’s plan begins with seeking Him for guidance about his Will. We see this truth in the stories of Moses, Habakkuk, Gideon, Mary, and the disciples. When they brought their thoughts, questions, and concerns to God, He wasn’t offended. Instead, He welcomed their curiosity and concern, taking on the role of Shepherd providing grace, wisdom, and direction.

As we seek to align our lives to God’s plan, let’s embrace the opportunity to process with Him and trust His heart and will for our lives.

Reflection

Take a moment to consider: Do I make it a habit of processing my thoughts, questions, and concerns with God? Am I intentional about seeking His will for my life? If the answer is no, take time to reflect on why that might be.
