You Were Given Dominion

“Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth." (Genesis 1:26, CSB)

From the very beginning, God’s plan was to give His children rulership over everything under heaven. I want you to fully grasp this because it is your inherited, God-given right and destiny. Read the scripture above again, carefully. “They will rule…the whole earth.”

Thus began the war with satan and his angels (demons) who were cast out of heaven with him. Until the time of creation and restoration of the earth, satan ruled and reigned here. Suddenly, the Father was expanding and adding to His family and giving ownership of the earth to His sons and daughters. satan also understood our area of dominion included him. We were placed above him in every way. You’ve heard the phrase, “You’re not the boss of me!” Well, we ARE the boss of satan and all his demons. When we come in the name of Jesus, they tremble and flee.

“Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7, CSB)

Simply put, “resist” means refusing to let the enemy trigger old toxic feelings and emotions. When you sense them creeping back into your thoughts, realize it and command the enemy to get out of your thoughts and to leave immediately by the power and authority given to you by God. I usually say something like this, “I see you, and I command you to leave my thoughts, my home, my family, etc., by the power and authority given me by Christ our King.”

The only power and authority satan has is what we allow him to exert over us. The key is to stop him in his tracks immediately. Be aware of thoughts, words, and actions you know are not flowing from the Spirit. This is true whether they are our thoughts, words, or actions or those of others. We can take authority and control the atmosphere around us no matter where we are.

I pray you are beginning to understand we can defend our territory, and as we do, God will increase it and pour out His Spirit on us to give even more power, authority, protection, and blessings.

My Prayer for You

Father, our excitement and gratitude are growing each day as we learn just how much you love us and trust us with your creation. Lord, please give the precious one reading Your message visions and dreams to increase their faith and understanding of the beautiful plan for Your children. Increase their knowledge, wisdom, courage, and faith. We love You, thank You, and praise You in the name of Jesus Christ, our King. Amen!

Declaration / Affirmation (read aloud)

I am an ambassador for Christ, and as such, I will represent Him in every area of my life. This includes exerting all power and authority to maintain holiness, grace, and mercy in the territory He has assigned to me. I will stand and fight using all the weapons of warfare He has provided, and the enemy will not wreak havoc in my life, the lives of my loved ones, or my community. Peace will reign supreme and I will follow in His footsteps all the days of my life.
