DAY 3 OF 5

Day 3 – You Can’t Do It Alone

God never asked you to accomplish your project all by yourself. In fact, the bigger the dream, the more you’ll need others around you. The book of Nehemiah clearly shows us how essential it is to involve the right people when building something important. Nehemiah couldn't possibly rebuild Jerusalem’s walls alone—they were massive, overwhelming, and required specific skills that he simply didn't have.

So, what did Nehemiah do? He immediately went to influential people (Nehemiah 2:16-18). Before involving the entire community, he secured the support of leaders and officials—those who could mobilize whole teams. His strategy was simple but powerful: he shared what God had already done for him, building their confidence in the vision he carried in his heart.

Nehemiah knew he needed masons, carpenters, craftsmen, and various specialists—people experienced in construction and repairs. This helped him truly understand the value of teamwork and collaboration. Nehemiah 3 shows an entire community working together, each person focused on their own section of the wall. A project that seemed impossible became achievable through delegation and everyone’s involvement.

The same is true for your project. Maybe you'll need a graphic designer for your website, a marketing expert, an accountant, or another type of professional to handle specific areas of your business or ministry. Recognizing that you can’t do everything yourself is actually a blessing—it frees you from the pressure of having to be perfect and self-sufficient.

Also, it is important to remember that every dream God gives you always blesses more than just you. Allowing others to work alongside you will not only lighten your load, but it creates a valuable community that will make a difference in many lives.

Nehemiah involved people who initially didn’t even know all the details of his project, yet they chose to help simply because they believed in him and his faith (Nehemiah 2:12). The same will happen for you. Some will support you because they believe in what you’re building; others will support you simply because they believe in you. Be open to accepting both kinds of help.

Finally, never underestimate the importance of clearly identifying what you need. When Nehemiah spoke to the officials, he was specific: he needed people who could build gates, repair walls, and those skilled with timber and gold (Nehemiah 3). Knowing exactly what you need is the first step to effective delegation and real progress.

God entrusted you with a big dream precisely to teach you the beauty of collaboration and the strength of community.

Practical Tip: Make a clear list of the areas within your project where you need help. Next to each area, write down names of people you know or skills you need to find. Begin praying intentionally for these people and for the courage to involve them.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that You haven’t called me to carry this dream alone. Help me humbly recognize what I need and give me the confidence to involve the right people. Clearly show me who You've already positioned around me to help build something greater than myself. Amen.
