Rooted in the Word: Biblical Literacyਨਮੂਨਾ

There was a time when my wife and I were heading to a destination I had never been to before. I had a general idea of where we were going, but she knew the area much better than I did. Despite my instinct to take control, I realized it made more sense for her to drive. She was familiar with the roads, the turns, and the best route to get us there safely. Instead of guessing my way through and potentially getting us lost, I trusted her experience, sat in the passenger seat, and let her lead the way.
That experience reminds me of how we are meant to rely on God’s Word in our lives. Too often, we want to take control, thinking we know the best path. We make decisions based on our own understanding, only to find ourselves lost, frustrated, or facing unnecessary detours. But Isaiah 55:11 tells us that God’s Word always accomplishes what He intends—it never returns empty. His Word is like a perfect roadmap, guiding us exactly where we need to go.
In a world full of mixed messages, temporary fixes, and deceptive advice, we need something unshakable to depend on. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding. When we acknowledge Him, He directs our paths. Just as I had to trust my wife’s familiarity with the roads, we must trust that God knows the way far better than we do.
Maybe you’re in a season where life feels uncertain. You’re trying to make sense of a difficult decision, a challenging relationship, or an unclear future. Instead of relying on your own wisdom, lean into God’s Word. It offers wisdom, correction, and clarity for every season of life.
Let God take the wheel. His direction is always right, and His guidance will never fail you.
Reflection Questions:
1. Have you ever tried to navigate life on your own and found yourself lost?
2. What is one area where you need to trust God’s Word more instead of your own understanding?
3. How can you be more intentional about letting Scripture guide your daily decisions?
