Experience Fasting in a New Wayਨਮੂਨਾ

Heaven on Earth: The Blessing of Fasting
Imagine sitting at a table filled with delicious food. Your favorite dish is steaming in front of you, its aroma filling the air. Your stomach growls, but before you take a bite, you pause. Today, you are fasting. Everything in you craves immediate satisfaction, yet you make a conscious choice to resist. Why? Because you know that fasting is more than just giving up food.
Fasting is like decluttering an overcrowded room. Our daily lives are often packed with things that demand our attention—appointments, worries, distractions. But when we fast, we create space. We set aside what diverts us and open our hearts to what truly matters. And suddenly, something incredible happens: our minds become sharper, our hearts more sensitive. We experience what Jesus meant when He said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).
Fasting brings heaven to earth because it refocuses us on what truly counts. It teaches us that real fulfillment doesn’t come from consuming more but from drawing closer to God. It helps us recognize our dependence on worldly things—whether food, social media, or approval—and instead, deepens our relationship with God.
The early Christians understood this power. They did not fast out of obligation but out of longing. Paul and Barnabas fasted and prayed before seeking God’s direction for their journey (Acts 13:2). Even today, people experience how fasting transforms their lives—not through personal effort but by making room for God to work.
Perhaps you worry that fasting will weaken you. But the opposite is true. Those who fast grow stronger from within. Those who let go receive more. Those who hunger for righteousness will be filled (Matthew 5:6).
Next Step: Do you want to discover what it looks like when God brings heaven to earth? Start with a small step. Skip a meal, spend an hour less on your phone, and intentionally fill that space with God.
