Breaking the Burden of Being Betterਨਮੂਨਾ

Standing Firm in Freedom
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."
Freedom in Christ means we no longer have to prove our worth. We don’t have to fear making mistakes or falling short because Jesus has already secured our righteousness.
Paul gives us two instructions based on this scripture. The first is to "stand firm" in this truth. That means actively leaning into and claiming the truth we already have in Christ. We may not "feel" it, but never allow your emotions to be your truth barometer. We claim truth as a territory we own.
The second instruction Paul gives is to not become entangled in the yoke of slavery. This means rejecting lies that tell us we must perform for God’s love. We already have it. This revelation leads to liberated living. It leads to breaking the burden of trying to be better and believing we have worth and value. Our value is already established in Christ.
How will you stand firm in your freedom today? What lies do you need to entangle yourself from and reject?
Prayer
Jesus, I choose to stand firm in the freedom You have given me. I refuse to carry the burden of performance. Thank You for loving me as I am. Amen.
