Abraham - The Mountain of Provision

Discussion Questions:
1. What do you think was going through Abraham’s head when God told him he and Sarah would have a child in their old age? And not only that they would have a child, but that EVERYONE would be blessed through this child?

2. What does it stir in you to hear that Abraham’s faith was counted as righteousness and not his righteous works?

3. We have learned that Abraham was a flatlander who turned into somewhat of a mountain man. After God provided the sacrifice for Abraham, what do you think he thought of when he saw that mountain? How do you think his view of God changed?

Prayer:
Pray that we will see God as the one who truly provides for everything that we need. Pray that we learn to have a faith that is so deep, that we will learn to trust God in the same fashion that Abraham did. Pray that we learn to have the strength and patience that only comes from God to hold fast to what we know he has said. May we be men who learn from the pioneers of our faith and hold fast to the fact that the God who spoke to Abraham is the same God who speaks to us through the Holy Spirit. Amen, and a thousand more amens.
