Life IQ With Reverend Matthew Watleyਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 2: Emotional Intelligence
Emotions are a gift from God, but they can lead to destruction when left unchecked. Emotional intelligence is not about suppressing emotions but about managing them in a way that honors God and nurtures our relationships. Jesus Himself displayed a full range of emotions—anger at injustice (Mark 11:15-17), deep sorrow (John 11:35), and overwhelming compassion (Matthew 9:36). However, He never allowed emotions to control Him. Instead, He used them as a tool for kingdom impact.
When we cultivate emotional intelligence, we learn to pause before reacting. Instead of allowing anger to drive division, we practice patience. Instead of letting sadness lead to despair, we find hope in God’s promises. Instead of bottling up frustration, we express it in ways that foster understanding and healing. As we surrender our emotions to the Holy Spirit, He produces fruit within us—love, joy, peace, and self-control—that helps us respond with wisdom rather than impulse.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to manage my emotions with wisdom. Teach me to be slow to anger, quick to listen, and patient in my responses. Fill my heart with Your peace and self-control, so that I may reflect Your love in all my interactions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
