WAR Fighting an Unseen Enemy

DAY 3 OF 5

Day 3:

WHAT IS IN OUR ARSENAL?

A warrior is only as good as his weaponry. The deployment of those weapons is only as effective as the warrior’s training. Training requires familiarity and capability through consistent education and repetition. The more we know and the more we use a weapon, the more proficient we become. As followers of Christ, we fight an enemy that we cannot detect or engage in a natural sense. In the supernatural realm, a supernatural battle requires spiritual warfare. When the Devil flings his fiery darts of lies, manipulation, deception, and death, it is our responsibility to be ready; unimpressed, and not surprised. A dangerous warrior in the spirit will have built up reserves of spiritual sweat equity through hours of preparation. He will have become a student of God’s living word and a spiritual Ninja who wields the sword of scripture in an aggressively offensive manner against the lies of his enemy.

A dangerous warrior who claims victory in battle must always be one step ahead of the enemy. He will always have an answer that counteracts the tactics of the opposition. He predicts the unpredictable and expects the unexpected. When the devil uses our past against us, we profess our freedom in Christ’s forgiveness and that we have been washed clean of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). The force of our resistance must be greater than the initial force of Satan’s attack. The vigor by which we become the aggressor must be exponentially greater than the enemy’s desire to destroy us. Essentially, not only must we know and speak God’s truth as an antidote for the lie, but we must stand firmly planted in an offensive posture that reinforces what God already designed and created for His children. When the Lord calls us a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9), and more than a conqueror (Rom 8:37), we must co-sign, endorse, and own that identity. Daily confession of God’s word and truth is what solidifies our position of strength in a spiritual war.

Much like David poured out his soul about God’s goodness and provision in the Psalms, we, too, must consistently proclaim God’s promises as devoted followers whose identity is in Christ. Speaking life over ourselves, our tribe and our circumstances are key ingredients for a solid footing against evil. Fervent prayer is one of our most valuable weapons against an unseen enemy. Our faith is bolstered through prayer and supplication. Prayer is the tool that maneuvers our hearts into the proper place of alignment with God’s heart. An intentional, consistent prayer life is the blueprint for strength to withstand any spiritual ambush. Jesus knew the power of prayer and would regularly find a quiet, secluded place of peace to seek His Father’s will and guidance. He was also faced with the Devil’s attempts at deception but resisted in word and deed. He would speak His Father’s word and command the Devil to flee. As warriors in the faith, we face spiritual tension daily. It is not a surprise and is also a guarantee. However, we have been adequately equipped with prayer and scripture as weapons, not only for retaliation but as proactively offensive tools that reinforce the fortress of God’s provision and protection on the spiritual battlefield.

About this Plan

WAR Fighting an Unseen Enemy

We all have a spiritual enemy. We all encounter a supernatural realm that involves intentional warfare and weaponry. It is time for followers of Christ to lean into the opposition with the tools the Lord provides daily. Failure to engage our spiritual threats puts the hearts and minds of the people we love, lead, and serve at risk. This plan will equip and empower you to experience victory.
