We are exploring how the simple prayer “Jesus, I trust You” can fill you with peace and courage as you start your day. It’s all too easy to wake up with things weighing you down and stressing you out. The thoughts themselves are not necessarily wrong. They might be important things you need to do today or problems that need to be resolved. But if you allow these things to control your mind and emotions, they will hold you back.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:6–7, “So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” Humbling yourself is about surrender. When you do this, God lifts you up at the right time, in the right way.

You don’t have to figure everything out or solve it all on your own. Yes, you should be responsible and work hard, but do so while you are trusting in God. He is the only one who can carry the weight of the world.

Trust leads to surrender, and surrender leads to peace. God invites you to throw your worries into His arms and leave them there. If you give your cares, anxieties, fears, and troubles to the Lord and don’t take them back, He will fill you with His peace.

Don’t even get out of bed until you cast your cares on God. It will improve the way you think, feel, and make decisions, and that will change the course of your day.
