Peace in Times of Painਨਮੂਨਾ

Peace in Times of Pain

DAY 2 OF 5

Pain has a way of consuming our hearts and minds. When we face loss, uncertainty, or suffering, it’s easy to let fear and sorrow take over. But Scripture reminds us that peace is found not in our circumstances, but in where we set our focus.

I witnessed this truth firsthand when my family gathered around my grandmother, expecting her to be in her last days of life. The weight of sorrow filled the room as we anticipated saying goodbye. But in the midst of our pain, my grandmother did something unexpected—she began singing a worship song.

Her frail voice filled the room, shifting the focus from the heartbreak of the moment to the faithfulness of God. Instead of drowning in sorrow, we found ourselves lifted into worship. The fear of losing her was replaced with the presence of God’s peace.

That moment taught me a powerful lesson: Worship changes our focus. When we lift our voices to praise God in the middle of pain, we take our eyes off the storm and fix them on the One who is greater than the storm. Worship doesn’t make the pain disappear, but it reminds us that God is still in control. He is our strong city, our salvation, our everlasting rock.

Are you overwhelmed by pain today? Lift up a song of praise. Even when it’s hard, worship shifts our hearts from fear to faith, from sorrow to peace. Keep your mind stayed on Him, and He will surround you with His perfect peace.

Prayer:

Lord, in the middle of my pain, help me to focus on You. You are my strong rock, my source of true peace and strength. When fear and pain try to overwhelm me, remind me to worship You—to turn my heart toward You instead of my problems. Fill me with Your powerful peace as I trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
