Biblical Foundations

DAY 5 OF 30

In the Bible, there are multiple examples of Pharisees who were confident that they knew God; they memorized the scriptures, they followed the rules, and they viewed themselves as people of God. However, knowing about God is different than knowing God. When we walk with God, read the Bible and pray, we get to “know” God, but we must not forget, He knows us, too. Still, not everyone who claims to know God will enter into heaven; it requires us to fully surrender ourselves to Him. No amount of knowledge or service will save us.Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Jesus, God’s Son, who lived a perfect life, willingly sacrificed His life in order to offer us a bridge into relationship with God. You can rest today knowing you are loved by God. He knew you from before the foundation of the earth was laid, and He longs for our hearts to be devoted to knowing and trusting Him.

PRAYER:

God, thank you for choosing me to be your own. Thank you for being big enough to create the world, yet still desiring of an intimate relationship with me. I want to know you more.
