Is God REALLY in Control?: Trusting God Through Life’s Detours & Delays

DAY 3 OF 3

When we look back at our lives and trace the path that led us here, God's hand often becomes remarkably clear. I've had countless moments of questioning difficult situations, wondering why certain challenges had to be part of my journey. Yet, time and again, I've watched in amazement as each piece fit perfectly into God's greater plan.

This divine orchestration reminds me of Esther's story. There she was, in the palace, facing a moment of crisis and caught in the middle. Her people were in danger, and she had a choice to make. That's when Mordecai spoke those powerful words so often referenced: "Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14). Esther's position wasn't an accident - it was divine providence.

The beauty of God's sovereignty is that He's not just watching from heaven wondering, "Oh, how are they going to deal with that situation?" No, He sees all, knows all, and is actively working in the details of our lives. Even in the moments when we feel uncertain or afraid, He is orchestrating His perfect will.

We see this truth when we read in Ephesians 1:11, "In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will." This verse reminds us that God isn't just sovereign - He's purposeful. He's not just powerful - He's personal. When we invite Him into our lives, He works everything according to His perfect will.

Remember, God is not just sovereign - He's also kind. He's not just powerful - He's also faithful. He's not just in control - He's also good. When we choose to trust Him, we're not just trusting His sovereignty; we're trusting His heart for us. So the next time you're struggling to understand why you're going through something or questioning how your current situation connects to your future, remember: God's providence is at work, and He is in control!

Final Prayer: Father, thank You for being a God who is both sovereign in power and personal in Your care for us. When I can't see the full picture, help me trust that You are working all things according to Your perfect will and timing. I choose to rest in Your providence today, knowing that You see the end from the beginning and that Your plans for me are good. In Jesus' name, Amen. If you enjoyed this reading plan by Rachel G.
