Journeying to Easter - Part 1ਨਮੂਨਾ

Waiting on the Lord
As we approach Easter, it’s always the right time to reflect on what Jesus did so that our relationship with God is restored. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we can have confidence in God, who has provided salvation for us.
Psalm 27 shows David’s confidence in God, who will rescue him from all those who would bring him down. He knows that despite what’s going on around him, God is with him, and he will not be overcome.
In this Psalm, David reflects on the covenant he has with God and what God has done for him (see 2 Samuel 7:1-17). As part of this covenant, God has promised that one will come to establish God’s permanent throne – one who will be punished on behalf of others – and that God’s love will be with him always. This is looking forward to what Jesus did in going on the cross to be punished for us.
Psalm 27 acknowledges God’s great plan and that David has confidence that God will deliver. He sees God’s goodness and he can wait with a strong heart upon the Lord.
The death and resurrection of Jesus reflects God’s goodness for us, our redemption. With that confidence, we can wait upon the Lord to return in glory.

About this Plan

“In these next days and weeks leading up to Easter we’ll explore different scriptures. Each verse a thread in the tapestry of God’s great big redemption story – all culminating in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this Easter season, let’s slow down and create a regular rhythm of remembrance together.” (Lent – Lucy Weil)
