Secure Attachment

When parents see their baby smile for the first time, their hearts melt. That tiny expression of delight is more than just a cute milestone, it’s part of God’s brilliant design. These early interactions are the foundation for a secure attachment between a baby and a caregiver, shaping a child’s sense of safety and trust.

Babies who form strong bonds with their parents grow up with a deep sense of security. They are more confident, more willing to explore, and more resilient in the face of challenges. The same is true in our relationship with God. When we truly grasp His love for us, it transforms the way we live.

It's essential that we establish a strong bond with our Father and understand how deeply loved we are by Him. When we know God loves us, we have an assurance that He has the best in mind for us, that He has our best interest at heart, and that He plans to give us a hope and a future.

This doesn’t mean fear will never come knocking. It will, but when it does, we don't have to be shaken. Fear may whisper, but it no longer gets to control us because we’re rooted in something stronger. Our foundation is secure.

So, how do we build this firm foundation of trust and love? The same way a baby bonds with a parent, through time spent together. To build intimacy with God, we must talk to our Heavenly Father throughout the day, read about His promises in Scripture, and learn to discern His voice. Over time, that bond will grow.

When we earnestly seek Him, we will find Him. So seek Him. Make time for God in your daily life. The more time you spend with Him, the deeper your trust will grow. Then rest in His love and move forward boldly and confidently. Exploring your world and fulfilling the purposes for which you were created.
