Lent: The Journey of Letting Goਨਮੂਨਾ

Week 5: Death and Grief
Theme: Dying to Self for New Life – Embrace the spiritual reality of letting go of the old to make room for resurrection and renewal.
Focus Scripture: John 12:24 – “Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”
Connect: Have you ever felt the weight of your mistakes, like they might define you forever? What does it feel like to imagine being truly forgiven?
Engage: In John 8, a woman caught in sin is brought before Jesus. Instead of condemning her, He says, “Let the one who is without sin cast the first stone.” One by one, her accusers leave. Jesus then offers her forgiveness and a chance to start fresh: “Go and sin no more.” This story shows us that dying to our old ways isn’t about shame—it’s about stepping into the freedom and grace that Jesus offers.
Apply: Is there a mistake or regret you’ve been carrying? Take a moment to bring it to Jesus in prayer. Trust Him to forgive you and show you how to live in the freedom of His grace.

About this Plan

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
