Acts 10:1-8 | It's for Everyone. Everyone!ਨਮੂਨਾ

I knew a woman who I once invited to church. Her answer? “If I stepped foot in a church, God would strike me with lightning.” I met a self-proclaimed atheist who came across hard, but you could tell his eyes were red from crying. He lambasted Christianity up and down but silently confided he was looking for what Jesus offered. I knew a high school student who dressed in black and practiced witchcraft. His soul was tortured, and he thought the church would reject him.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone. Everyone! God’s salvation – his forgiveness of sins, incorporation into his family, and outpouring of his Spirit is for everyone. Everyone! It’s the message of Acts. It’s the focus of Acts 10. Jews, Samaritans, and Gentiles, the clean and unclean, the broken and the whole, from persecutors like Paul to centurions like Cornelius to disciples who denied him like Peter, Acts shows us God’s salvation coming to all.
Think of every far-reaching example. Think of anyone you might think would be out of bounds. Think of those farthest from God. Salvation is for them. For you. For everyone. Everyone!
Questions
- Think of any of the people mentioned above. What would you tell them?
- Who do you know that thinks God would never have them? What can you tell them?
