Day Three: Sanctification
Sanctification is a big word - so what does it mean? It is to be set apart or declared as holy. I know that sounds like a lot of work, and it’s because it is - but it’s the process by which Jesus makes us more like himself. And it’s hard work, but well worth it. It is the only and true satisfaction for our souls.
Jesus is holy - and when he is praying for his disciples in John 17, His desire is that they too would become holy. But how? By the truth. The truth is God’s word, the bible. And by reading it, we can learn how to become more like Jesus in the way we think and act. God’s word allows us to be transformed by changing the way we think (Romans 12.1-2).
