The Bible for Young Explorers: Numbersਨਮੂਨਾ

Miriam
Miriam was Moses’ older sister. She was a brave girl who helped her mother rescue baby Moses when Pharaoh was trying to kill all the boys (see Exodus 2). Later, she showed creativity and confidence as she led the Israelite women in singing and dancing after they had escaped through the Red Sea (see Exodus 15). However, Miriam and her brother Aaron challenged the authority of Moses in the wilderness. As a result, she became ill with leprosy for a week.
Miriam points to Mary
The Greek name ‘Mary’ is equivalent to ‘Miriam’. The virgin Mary also faced the threat of Herod trying to kill her baby boy. Like Miriam, she celebrated God’s unstoppable rescue plan with an amazing song (check it out in Luke 1:46–55).
