Mentoring Lessons- Serving Adventure Sports Athletesਨਮੂਨਾ

Advocating for action sports ministry
What action sports are growing in your community?**
In the past, sport has often been viewed with suspicion by the church. At best, action sports are seen as a distraction. I have learned that action sports with their counter-cultural values, reckless pursuit of adventure, and disregard for authority, have been viewed as even more ungodly or dangerous than other sports.
So encourage Christ-followers in action sports to own their faith and be confident in living it out in the action sports community they love. Fight hard against the secular/sacred divide which tries to argue that some pursuits and activities are better and more sacred than others.
I find it important and powerful to encourage action sportspeople to surrender their sport passion to God for His purposes.
Encourage churches and agencies to see the potential in action sports ministry.
Research the rise and influence of action sports and take a keen interest in action sports ministries. Embrace this modern youthful phenomenon as one way of reaching the next generation.
Scripture to ponder –
1 Corinthians 10:31
So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Key Lesson: Every expression of human culture and tribe needs an active believer present.

About this Plan

Adventure sports often push athletes to their physical and mental limits. As Christians, we can serve these athletes by offering support, encouragement, and prayer, while modeling Christ’s love and endurance. Through mentorship and community, we can help them find purpose, balance, and spiritual growth in the thrill of adventure. This study explores serving adventure sports athletes from experiences within the sports movement.
