Dangerous Prayersਨਮੂਨਾ

INCREASE MY FAITH
“Increase our faith!" Can you hear the urgency in the disciples' request? You may have also prayed that prayer.
Matthew 17:20 says faith as small as a mustard seed is enough for God to do amazing things. As Christ followers, we are invited to pray “dangerous prayers," prayers that are in accordance with His will and accomplish great things for the kingdom.
In Mark 9:20-24 a distraught father pleads with Jesus to heal his tormented son if he can. Jesus responds saying, “Everything is possible for one who believes.” The desperate father exclaims, “I do believe; Help me overcome my unbelief!”
I once heard faith described as sitting in a favorite chair daily. We trust in the capability and character of that chair to hold our body as it did the previous day. In the same way, the more we trust in God and experience his faithfulness to us, the greater our faith.
John 10:27 says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." This passage implies two things: 1. We listen to His voice. 2. That we follow Him.
As we have been fasting and praying these past 21 days, hopefully, His voice has become clearer, and we have taken action based on what He has told us.
You see, faith is trusting God enough to do what he says, even when it doesn’t make sense. When we ask dangerous prayers in line with God’s ways, our motives and desires will be in sync with His.
May this be a challenge for us. God is inviting us to go deeper with Him, to turn down the volume of the world so we can hear his voice clearer, and to act on his promptings.
What dangerous prayer is God inviting you to pray?

About this Plan

In His most familiar prayer, Jesus uttered a four-word "dangerous prayer:" "Your will be done" (Matthew 6:10). It takes trust in God's goodness and faithfulness to pray for His will in our lives. I want to invite you to have the same heart and desire as Jesus and to follow His lead in these four words: "Your will be done."
