21 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Lectio Divinaਨਮੂਨਾ

Preparation: Today, you’ll be reading from Deuteronomy 31:1-6. Before you begin, take a moment to breathe deeply. Release any tension from your body, clear your mind from distracting thoughts, and set your attention on God’s presence.
Read: The first step is to read. As you read the passage the first time, pay attention to words or phrases that catch your attention and write them down.
Reflect: This time, reflect on the passage. As you read a second time, note what emotions stir up. Which character in the story do you resonate with?
Respond: Now respond. As you reread the passage, start a conversation with the Lord. What is He saying to you through this text? What do you need to say back to Him?
Rest: Finally, rest in God's presence. As you prepare for the remainder of this day, spend a few minutes in silence meditating on God’s Word.
Pray: Take a moment to pray on your own or use this prayer as a guide:
Thank you, Jesus, for never leaving me in times of need. You are the same yesterday, today, and forevermore; you are the God who will fight for me. Holy Spirit, as I take this time to reflect, respond, and rest in your Word, I ask for more of you because when I'm weak, you are strong. I pray that I decrease so you can increase. I ask for more of you, in Jesus' name, amen.
