On His Shoulders
There's a phrase in Isaiah chapter 9 that promises the coming Messiah, Jesus. And it says… “...the government will be on his shoulders.”
The word government simply means rule, authority, dominion. And the Hebrew word for shoulders means the neck, the place of burdens.
The coming Savior would be the ruler with authority and dominion, and the carrier of all burdens.
It's exactly what Jesus did when He went to the cross. He took the burdens of the world on Himself.
Isaiah 53 says that…
“…he carried our sickness and our sorrow…. and the punishment that brought us peace was put on him.”
He can't take your burdens until you accept Him as your ruler and your king. He will take your burdens on Himself.
