Acts 6:1-7 | the Desperate Need for Youਨਮੂਨਾ

The number of disciples was growing rapidly. From 120 in Acts 1 to 3000 more in Acts 2. Another 5000 in Acts 4. More and more in Acts 5. Jesus’s movement was exploding. Acts 6:7 says the word of God was spreading and the number of disciples in Jerusalem was increasing. A small number of apostles couldn’t keep up with it all.
Today, it’s estimated that there are 2.4 billion Christians in the world. If you’re a Christian, you’re one of them. If you’re not a Christian, you can become one today. It’s easy. Pay special attention to today’s Romans 10 reading. Confess your sins to God. Trust in Christ for your forgiveness. Call on his name!
Acts 6 shows a special problem that came to the early Christians with explosive growth. But let’s not miss something. This problem is a gift of God. It’s the result of people coming to faith! That’s what Jesus wants—All people to be saved—All people in his kingdom.
Who is someone who helped bring you to faith? Thank God for them today.
About this Plan

Acts is the story of the apostles, but it’s also a story of more than the apostles. It’s the story of God at work through every believer in Christ. This 5-day plan continues a journey through the book of Acts—the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of his followers as he expands his kingdom to the ends of the earth. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play.
