Better Than Man’s Praise

Most people love to have the approval of others, and for young girls, that often means the approval of their fathers. It doesn’t seem to matter whether the fathers are good or bad at parenting; little girls seem to want to know that they have pleased the first man in their lives. Unfortunately, the standard that is used today to offer approval is too frequently based on appearance and performance. Even good fathers fail to realize how often they praise their daughters for how they look rather than for who they are. Praise from the world offers temporary satisfaction. We don’t need that kind of approval; the only approval we should care about is the approval of our heavenly Father. What could possibly compare with the praise of our Creator? His is the praise that is to be the most prized and treasured.
