Day 6: Building on the Rock
Key Scripture: Matthew 7:24-26
As we close this devotional, how are you building your life? Are you building on a strong foundation?
Jesus finishes the Sermon on the Mount with a powerful parable about two builders. He says, "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand" (Matthew 7:24-26).
The foundation of our lives matters. If we build on the shifting sands of worldly values—like success, popularity, or comfort—our lives will crumble when storms come. But if we build on the solid foundation of Jesus’ teachings, we can stand firm no matter what challenges we face.
Building on the rock means not just hearing Jesus’ words, but putting them into practice. It’s about living out the values of the Kingdom every day, trusting that His way is the best way. As you move forward from this devotional, commit to building your life on Jesus and His teachings. When you do, you will find strength, stability, and peace, even in the midst of life’s storms.
Thank you for joining this journey through the Upside-Down Kingdom. We hope these reflections have encouraged you to live differently—rooted in Kingdom values and focused on Jesus.
Prayer:
Lord, I commit to building my life on your word. Help me not only hear your teachings but live them out every day. Thank you for being my firm foundation.
