Daily Bible Reading— October 2024, God’s Guiding Word: Justice and Peaceਨਮੂਨਾ

October 28
Introduction
Amos 6:1–14: Today’s reading once again points to the luxurious lifestyle of the leaders of Israel. Instead of feasting, the prophet warns that they should be preparing for the impending destruction and occupation by a foreign army.
Today’s Key Verse: Amos 6:12b
[The LORD says:] “You have turned justice into poison, and right into wrong.”
Reflect
According to verses 1–7, how is the luxurious lifestyle of the people described and denounced by Amos? What will happen to them? What does God despise? How do you envision a world in which true justice prevails?
Pray
Sovereign God, teach me the way of your truth and show me where I can turn what is wrong into what is right. Open my eyes to injustice and help me be an instrument of your healing, mercy, peace, and love. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Amos 7:1–17: Amos is shown visions of Israel’s punishment.
