Grief Turned Into Joy: Reflecting on John 16:16-33ਨਮੂਨਾ

Reflection on Leadership and Global Mission
Jesus says “...Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy…” (John 16:20 NIV). As a Christian leader, you may have encountered fellow believers who are going through grief and pain. How do these words inform how you encourage those you lead or your fellow believers who are facing great grief and sorrow?

About this Plan

In John 16:16-33, Jesus takes the disciples through the reality of his departure and the grief they will experience. Jesus compares their confusion and grief to childbirth pains that are soon forgotten because of the joy of receiving a baby. He encourages them that because he has overcome the world, they too will overcome and receive joy from the Father.
