Prayer Changes Things
Have you ever felt like you don’t have enough energy to utter one more word to anyone, let alone share your feelings with the Lord? Or maybe you’ve been asking God for the same thing over and over again, and you feel like He either is not listening or has decided not to answer. Jesus gives us a picture of how He wants us to pray in Luke 18. The persistent widow wears down the judge with her constant request until he finally gives in. God wants us to come to Him with everything. He has given us an open door to approach His throne with confidence at all times (Hebrews 4:16). If an uncaring judge finally responded to the widow’s constant pleas, how much more will the God who created us and loves us respond to ours? No matter what you are bringing before the Lord, don’t give up! Keep talking to Him. The process will change your heart to be more like His. So when you feel all prayed out, remember that God is listening and working on your behalf.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, sometimes I feel like the persistent widow when I come to You over and over again with the same request. I know You hear my prayer, and I trust that You will do what is best for me. Help me not to lose heart but to remember Your love and faithfulness. Amen.
