Take Your Mouth Off Thatਨਮੂਨਾ

The Power of Listening
Yesterday, we talked about watching our mouths. Today, let’s delve deeper into the art of listening—a skill that’s often overshadowed in a world filled with opinions and noise.
Proverbs 18:13 (NIV) “To answer before listening—that is folly and shame.”
Listening isn’t just about hearing words; it’s about understanding hearts. How often do we rush to respond without truly grasping the other person’s perspective or the Holy Spirit’s leading? God calls us to be listeners who reflect His patience and wisdom.
Proverbs 19:20 encourages us to heed advice and accept instruction, which starts with attentive listening. James 1:19 reinforces the importance of being quick to listen and slow to speak. In Luke 10:38-42, we see the contrast between Martha’s busyness and Mary’s choice to sit at Jesus’ feet—a reminder that listening to God’s voice is a priority.
As we reflect on the power of listening today, let’s open our hearts to truly hear what others are saying and discern how God might be speaking through them. Let’s cultivate a spirit of humility and patience, knowing that God’s truths often reveal themselves in the quiet moments of attentive listening.
