NO DOUBT ABOUT IT
Have you ever been sure something couldn’t be true but later had to admit you were wrong? There’s someone like that in today’s Bible reading.
Thomas has been one of Jesus’ group of followers, for three years, and was in Jerusalem when Jesus died. Now his friends are telling him that they have seen Jesus alive! But Thomas knows Jesus is dead.
What convinced Thomas?
Thomas could see and touch Jesus, so then he could be sure: he could know!
But what about us? We cannot see Jesus, in the way that Thomas and the others could. How can we be sure? See what Jesus says in John, chapter 20, verse 29.
Do you have friends who don’t believe Jesus is alive? You can tell them and you can live as if Jesus is alive, but, in the end, they’ll have to be convinced by Jesus himself. Pray that they will discover the truth and be sure.
Pray: “Thank you, Jesus. It really is true! You are alive!”
