The Good Shepherd

The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in fields of green grass and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water. PSALM 23:1-2 GNT

How did God provide for you today? In what ways did you see His tender care for you throughout the day? Did you encounter His goodness and love? God is our Shepherd. He watches over us and cares for our physical needs. He looks out for our safety. He always has His eye on us, no matter how far we might choose to wander. Think back on God's watch over you today. How did He come alongside you and provide moments of rest and refreshment? Tomorrow, consider stopping periodically to talk with God and invite Him into your day. Be intentional about acknowledging His provision and care for you. Take pauses throughout the day and notice Him in creation or in the people you spend time with. Be a sheep who notices its Shepherd.

Lord, You will never stop watching over me. Thank You that despite my wanderings and struggles, You continue to call me back to You and to the rest and refreshment that You provide. You want the best for me. You want me to live within the safety and freedom of life with a Good Shepherd. Help me fix my eyes on You and not wander. As I lay my head to sleep tonight, let me rest in the promise of a good life with You, Lord. Amen.
