With Your Godਨਮੂਨਾ

When Jesus was asked about judgment day, what he said shocked his audience. He said that those who enter the Kingdom of Heaven will not be those who went to church the most, gave the most money, or read their Bibles the most. Instead, he said it will be those who took care of him by feeding him, clothing him, visiting him, and being hospitable to him. Jesus said that by doing it for the most disadvantaged people in society, they did it to him.
Peruvian theologian Gustavo Gutierrez said, “If you want to find God, go to the poor.” When we help the hungry, the thirsty, the immigrant, the naked, the sick, and the imprisoned, we are walking with God.
As the Holy Spirit helps our faith mature, he also opens our eyes to the truth of injustice. We may not be able to stop the wars, world hunger, or natural disasters, but we can bring heaven to earth by helping those around us.
Reflection Questions:
Matthew 25 says when we help “the least of these” we are serving him. Who are “the least of these” in your life or community? How can you help them?
Why is it so important that we see Jesus in those who are suffering?
