Slowing Down for the Seasonਨਮੂਨਾ

The next time you’re outside after the sun has gone to bed, take a minute to look up at the night sky.
Breathe in deeply. Hold for four seconds. Then slowly exhale.
Can you see the stars? If so, try to count them. If you can’t see the stars, imagine the 100 billion or more that exist in the Milky Way alone - whether or not you are able to see them!
Christmas gatherings with family relatives are sometimes difficult. Or sometimes, because of loss, they are non-existent. This Christmas, let the stars in the heavens remind you of the new family to which you belong. A family of those who have been given the right to become children of God, through belief in Jesus.
Have you connected with this family lately? How could you do so during this Christmas season? What gift might this family have to offer you? What gift do you have to offer them?

About this Plan

In the hustle and bustle of preparing for Christmas, it can be easy to forget what (and for whom!) this season is all about. These devotionals are an invitation to slow down—even if only for 5 minutes—to read Scripture, engage your senses, and contemplate reflective questions.
