Love Your Neighbor
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, You have called us to be perfect as You are perfect (Matthew 5:48) and to be merciful, just as You are merciful (Luke 6:36). We are to be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as You have forgiven us through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior (Ephesians 4:32).
Please help us to be imitators of You, our perfect, compassionate, loving Father. Let us think about others before ourselves and care for people sacrificially. Convict us in the times of our self-made busyness when we say we don’t have time to serve others and, as a result, make excuses for our actions. Give us a passion to love and help our neighbors, showing them the same grace and kindness You have shown us. Fill our hearts with selfless love, enabling us to love our neighbors as ourselves, as You have commanded us to do.
