Loveਨਮੂਨਾ

How would you define the word love? You may say affection or appreciation toward something or someone. In our culture, the word love gets tossed around a lot. It’s used to describe our affection for a lot of things. We say we love our friends. We say we love a particular restaurant. We say we love a sports team or an artist. In all these instances, we are simply scratching the surface of the true meaning and use of the word love. There is a deeper meaning to this word—a meaning that is grounded in God’s Word.
How did God show us love? John answers this question for us in Scripture. God sent Jesus to die for our sins on the cross. Jesus has allowed us to live eternally through what He did on the cross. Because of that, we can turn to the Scriptures to define love, and when we do, we see that love was modeled by God in this one act. In other words, Jesus is what God has to say love is.
How can you let the love that God has shown you overflow? Maybe your next step is to love your siblings, listen to your parents the first time they ask you to do something thing, or share the Good News of what Jesus has done to someone around you.
