That’s another difficult question! One of the differences between people and animals is that people have souls but animals don’t. This means that people can be aware of God and can worship him. All human tribes and nations have some sort of religion, but no animals do.

When we die, our bodies die but our souls continue to live. When animals die, I’m afraid they just die.

This means that when we go to heaven to be with God for ever, we won’t be able to meet up again with specific animals that we have known and loved.

However, the Bible tells us that God is creating a new heaven and earth that will be so wonderful that no one will even remember this old earth anymore. Since animals are such a wonderful part of this world, I’m sure that there will be even more wonderful creatures in the new world that God is making – ones that are even more amazing than the ones we have known and loved here.
