Christmas Slaysਨਮੂਨਾ

Why does Christmas slay?
That’s the question we are going to answer over the next few days.
First and foremost, Christmas slays because God dwelt among us.
God dwelling among us means that He’s WITH us. The wait is finally over. A Savior has been given to us. In the passage from the book of Isaiah that we are going to read today, we see that the people of Israel had been promised a Savior long before He came along.
And while the Israelites had to wait a very long time for Jesus, God’s people were anticipating His presence and then welcomed it when He finally arrived.
However, one of the coolest parts of the Christmas story is that Jesus’ entrance into the world looked much different than people had come to expect. Instead of Jesus arriving as a mighty force, opening up the Heavens, coming down on a chariot, instead He came to us as an innocent baby born in a manger.
This baby would grow up to be the Savior of the world who dwelled among us.
Christmas slays for many, many reasons, but the fact that Christmas means that God came to live among us, is so special!
As we go through this plan together, be thinking about why God dwelling with us is such a big deal.
