INTENTIONAL CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD

The textbook definition of prayer is "a solemn request for help or the expression of thanks to God." In my mind's eye, prayer is our umbilical cord connection to God. Through that connection, we have access to the throne of Heaven. Prayer is how we communicate with our Heavenly Father with intentionality.

According to 2 Chronicles 7:14, prayer is a mind-renewing, attitude-adjusting, faith-building, game-changing, intentional conversation. It is a humble expression of God-dependence. God-dependence means that we do less talking and more listening. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us that we should not worry about anything but pray about everything. This directive shifts the focus from reacting to life's challenges to responding with complete trust in God. Our faith in God is vital on our journey to our assigned destiny.

As we engage in this intentional conversation with God, something remarkable happens; we experience the peace of God, which goes beyond human understanding. It is a deep peace that only He can provide. This type of calm can only mature in prayer.

Prayer is more than just a religious obligation in our daily lives. It is a lifeline to a deeper relationship that is deepened through intentional, two-way conversations with God, us talking to Him and us listening to Him.

Prayer is the key that unlocks the pre-calculated path to our foreordained destiny.
