The Shalom Pathਨਮੂਨਾ

Shalom is Peace, Quiet, Tranquility, and Contentment
Fourth, shalom means “peace,” “quiet,” “tranquility,” “contentment.” This is a peace that is both national and personal. Isaiah 32:17 says, “The fruit of righteousness will be peace.” What follows is quietness and confidence. Psalm 4:8 says “I will lie down and sleep in peace.” It is a peace that allows one to depart from this life in tranquility. God assures Abram in Genesis 15:15, “You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age.” In I Kings 2:6 the wicked are to be without peace at death. Isaiah 32:18 prophecies, “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” Peace, security, quiet contentment—it is all shalom.
