Following a God You Can’t See

You’ve made it to the very middle of this Bible Plan! Great job! But, there’s probably a question forming in your mind. Maybe you’ve said it out loud to someone before. Maybe you haven’t. It’s a question a lot of people have about following Jesus:

“How am I supposed to follow Jesus when I can’t even see Him?”

He doesn’t even live on Earth anymore. You can’t show up at His door and ask Him to go for a bike ride with you.

Is it starting to make sense? God’s given you tools to use to help you understand Him even though you can’t see Him!

You wouldn’t try to build a house without at least a hammer and nails, right? Nope. That would be ridiculous. So, don’t try to follow Jesus without taking advantage of the incredibly helpful tools He’s placed in your life.

Hey—you’re using one tool right now by learning from the Bible! (And from this Bible Plan!)

Ask questions of other followers of Jesus you know. Get together with them at church often!

And, of course, don’t forget to use the best tool God’s given anyone: prayer!

Now, you might be having another thought. Maybe a little something like, “Um, isn’t ‘read your Bible, go to church, and pray’ a little basic?”

You’re right. Those tools are basic. But, they’re not always easy! Come back for tomorrow’s reading. There’s much more to it. Remember: Disciples dig in. They don’t breeze over.

Pray: God, thank You for the tools You’ve given me to help me follow You and learn Your truth. Help me to use these tools every day. I want to know You better. Help me to follow You better. In Jesus’ name, amen.
