Two Kingdoms - Part 3ਨਮੂਨਾ

Read Matthew 15:10 - 20
In this parable, we see that our thoughts, words, and actions come from the deepest part of us: the heart. We are also given a list of the things that make us unclean. Think about the following things mentioned in these verses; evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, and slander. If these things make us unclean, let's focus on the opposites: loving thoughts, caring for others, being faithful, purity, generosity, telling the truth, and speaking well of others.
What goes in comes out, so we need to be aware of the things we are consuming and spending time focussing on. What or who are we letting influence us? In order to live out the values of the kingdom, we need to allow ourselves to be influenced by the right things.
Go deep: Think back to this past week. Are you aware of the words that have come out of your mouth? How about your actions and how you've treated others? Allow God to examine your heart today and let Him speak into any areas where you are struggling.
Be bold: Who around you is a good influence? Who encourages you to live out the values of the kingdom? Why not thank them today? Who in your environment can you positively influence?
Memorise it: "But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart..." - Matthew 15:18 NIV
