Seeing Jesus in the Gospel of Markਨਮੂਨਾ

DISCIPLESHIP
Look Closely:
- In these passages, Jesus is preaching about the true meaning and cost of discipleship. How does He describe discipleship?
- In verse 34, Jesus introduces the idea of self-denial. He’s not talking about this in the sense that we would deny ourselves of some THING. Jesus teaches that self-denial means that we become more aware of Christ and less aware of OURSELVES. How does your understanding of what it means to “deny self” change or evolve after reading these passages?
- What kinds of feelings might the disciples and other listeners in the crowd have felt?

About this Plan

In a world of hostility, corruption, and confusion, a regular guy named Mark wrote his gospel to boldly proclaim that Jesus is THE good news. Mark vividly tells his story with urgency and purpose, giving all of us a front-row seat to the teachings, miracles, discipleship, and life of Jesus. This plan puts you in the story so that you can observe, ask questions, and learn alongside the disciples.
