Ruthਨਮੂਨਾ

As this chapter begins, Ruth is going to the fields to glean some of the grain harvest - in order to meet her basic needs and provide food for her and Naomi. This idea came from the book of Leviticus, which made sure that the farmers in Israel wouldn’t completely harvest their fields. Instead, they were commanded to “cut corners” in harvesting and always leave some behind for the poor to come and gather. It was hard work, and Ruth had to work from morning until evening. But as Ruth was working to meet her basic needs, God met her in that field. It might have seemed like a coincidence to Ruth at the time, but God was supernaturally guiding her to that field.

About this Plan

The story of Ruth stands as a story of redemption. Coming from tragedy and as a foreign woman, Ruth is the last person we might expect to see the goodness of God. She becomes a key figure in the story of the Bible and the great-grandmother of King David himself!
