How could enemies become friends again?

What made us God’s enemies? Read verse 21 to find out.

How did God make us his friends? Check verse 22. Were you right?

One day, explains Paul, God’s friends will be holy, faultless, and pure – that means totally good! One hundred percent good!

That can happen because God sent Jesus to live, die, and live again, so that humans – you! – can be God’s friend. That’s amazing – but it’s not all!

Further on in his letter, Paul says that if we really love Jesus we will be with him in heaven one day. Jesus is already there, with God, ready to welcome us.

Read the verses from chapter 3 and think about what Paul says.

It’s hard to imagine what heaven will be like. Thinking of things we love might help. How does “love” feel, when you think of those people and things? Paul says heaven will be full of God’s love!

Pray: “Dear God, you love me! Thank you that heaven will be full of your love!”
