We’re learning how to effortlessly do what Jesus did. We’re aligning our lives with the practices He taught so that we can live the way He lived. Today’s practice as we journey onward is study.
What do we mean by study? Dallas Willard defines it as taking knowledge from the head to the heart. It’s engaging with the written and spoken Word of God and putting into practice the things He reveals.
What we learn when we become Christ followers is that a relationship with God soon requires a contribution from us which will consist of study. And why do we this this? Well, it’s not so we can get the right answers or become Bible trivia experts. We do it so our minds can be renewed. We do it to surrender our bodies and engage our minds and point our thoughts toward learning about the character of God. The truth us, we all live at the mercy of our beliefs. And thankfully, our beliefs can be influenced and shaped by God the more we are in His Word and staying attuned to His teachings.
After all, it’s never enough to merely know about something. We must seek to do the things Jesus said to do. Study up. Check out the video below, and welcome Home.
Today’s invitation:
Today, find a way to study. Meditate on Scripture. Seek to learn. Be open to the teachings of the Lord. Open your Bible. Memorize a passage. Be careful about the thoughts you allow into your mind, and remember that God is with you and He’ll help you study.
