Old Testament Glimpses of the Kingdomਨਮੂਨਾ

A Prototype Kingdom Man
The next clear glimpse of the Kingdom in the Old Testament writing appears in the coming of Abraham. Abraham is the first Kingdom man! He is called our father and we are to walk in his footsteps. Here are some of the clues that Abraham represents a Kingdom man.
Clue #1: He enters a covenant relationship with God by faith, based not upon God’s laws but upon Abraham’s ability to believe and follow God’s promises.
Clue #2: Abraham clearly comes under God’s authority by faith.
Clue #3: God gives him great authority to be His ruling agent upon the earth - for as he lives under authority, God gives him great authority.
Clue #4: God’s shalom blessing grows upon Abraham.
Clue #5: God promises to make Abraham and his seed His own people, bless them, and make them the carriers of His blessing to the world.
Reflection Question:
- Has God given you a promise?
- Do you believe that promise will come to fruition? Whatever it is, hang on to it, stay persistent in your faith, and keep praying. God’s promise for your life will not return void in your obedience to trust Him in the process.
