Surrender the "How"ਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 1: Surrender Your Plans
I’m an Enneagram Type One. This means I always have a plan, I'm very organized, and desperately want control over everything. It is still an uncomfortable process, but I’m learning to surrender my plans to God and trust in His purpose over my life. Take some time today to reflect on your plans and ask God to help you surrender them to Him.
My daughter has been begging me for a car since she turned 16. When I let her practice driving, I can see that there are still areas that need to be improved. Because of this, she won’t be getting a car anytime soon. But if you let her tell it, she is ready to hit the road right now. In this same way, we must look at God as our parent who sees what we have planned but understands what we are and are not ready for. Can we just admit it; We don't always know what is best for us. Sometimes our plans can lead us away from God's will for our lives too. When we surrender our plans to God, we submit ourselves to His authority and trust His wisdom.
Lord, please assist me to give You control of my plans. Give me the discernment to understand Your plan for my life and the bravery to go along with it. Help me to rely on Your direction even when it goes against what I want. Amen.
